They tried to brainwash me but the training all felt so fucking stupid. Like dude, you can tell me to tell the fucking customers "I'm a consultant, not a salesman" but don't try to feed me that shit. We had a speaker come in to talk about how awful single payer healthcare is and how much better our current system is. It made me sick.
Average people depend on their health insurance to stay out of medical debt. The thing is unnecessarily complicated and expensive. This healthcare system does not benefit the person.
I'm so angry on his behalf and heartbroken for his family. How did we end up with a system that fails us so spectacularly? We try and try and try to play the game and to do everything right and yet random shit can mean having to choose between the medications keeping us alive and a roof over our heads or food on our plates.
I’m American, currently living in another country with great healthcare, and I’m NOT looking forward to dealing with American healthcare when I end up returning. There’s no need for it to be this expensive.
A lot of people (including myself) avoid going to the doctor until we can no longer function normally because it’s so expensive. Additionally, some folks (especially women, and women of color) are dismissed and treated very poorly when seeking care. If you have any mental health issue on your medical records, you’re even less likely to be taken seriously. Most Americans avoid going to the doctor or an ER until it’s extremely serious and often too late. (personal example: took 7 years, 11 appointments, 2 urgent care visits and 3 ER visits for severe stomach pain before I was finally tested and treated for H.Pylori. Was diagnosed with anxiety and stress several times and given multiple pregnancy tests however. About $13,000 in the end.)
Wow. I'm sorry but I could not give mine up. I don't care about myself as much I do for my kids. But every man has a different experience. I hope the best for all of you. My heart goes out to you. Stay strong.
This is so heartbreaking. And people wonder why the rest of the world no longer considers the US a first world country. Can't wait till after my son graduates so I can leave this place.
My grandfather was from Mexico and joined the navy. When he got out, he married my grandmother, who is Mexican but born here. They had 10 kids and bought two houses in Southern California. My Grandfather was day laborer who worked on many of the freeways in LA. They were able to get so much because things were a lot cheaper back then. Now people can barely afford rent! Look how far we have fallen!
This also highlights the inaccessibility of birth control and abortions. If these things were free and supplied in multiple locations, couples wouldn’t have to go through the absolute heartbreak of giving up a child they wanted.
Think about it. They only want to sell insurance to you for the things you don't need insurance for. There is no question of whether it is right or wrong or good or bad, that is obvious. The only question is when will we do away with the entire parasitic for profit healthcare system.
Canada here. Grew up learning that having a family doctor was so important for keeping a record of our medical history to better receive care and to know what to look for in our children in term of hereditary health. I only ever heard the expression Pre-existing conditions in American Media. Truly is a 100% USA thing.

What's sad is how many people believe we are all entitled to breed regardless of who pays.
